Stanleyville Trail: Take 2

John has arrived and so it was time for me to live up to my promise. The Stanleyville Trail was waiting for us. If you remember, I abandoned the trail at the top last time. I had decided to wait until John was here to finish it. And I'm glad I did! It was wonderful to share that great hike with him. He declared it his favourite so far!

The day was bright and sunny. Not too cold, but certainly not overly warm. I took my camera along. I have a harness to carry it on a hike. So this is what I looked like:

Sometimes, there are steps to help with the climb.

But use with caution!

Autumn has arrived!

There are lots of dead spruce in the forests, here. Spruce budworm is an ongoing threat to these trees. The damage goes in cycles and has done for years. This year is one of the worst of the cycle, according to locals.
