Cool Shots and Randoms

Today was a miserable day, weather-wise. It poured rain and was misty. A good day to stay inside. So today, I will share some random photos. 

I love to look at the interplay of water, rocks and seaweed. Often, they create interesting, abstract patterns.





A few other random things:

This is a Canada jay, also known as the grey jay, gray jay, camp robber, moose bird, gorby, or whisky jack. I have seen a few since arriving here. We don't have them at home, so I enjoy seeing them. They interact with people, usually looking for handouts:


A couple of days ago, I was invited to a good ol' Newfoundland bonfire. They were not allowed all summer, but the fire ban has been lifted. Here, you gather around the bonfire and the guitars and harmonicas come out! I didn't get permission from the folks to post their picture, so here's a pic of the fire. It gave me permission:


Last night, I attended a local show. It was a musical tribute to the history of Woody Point, where I am staying. The music was great, and it was really nice to hear the history of the place. It was all about resilience in the face of change, which is one of the themes of the work I am doing here. I was sitting toward the back, so couldn't get good photos:
