Back on the Water

This morning, AHOI was back on the water and they invited me along again. This time, they were doing transects with their ROV (remotely operated vehicle). They send it to the bottom of the bay in different locations so they can record and take video of what is living there. I got to help a little bit, but mostly, I just got to sit on the boat and enjoy the view on what was yet another gorgeous day:

The Tablelands

The boat

The ROV

This is the coolest thing. Rain paper! It's waterproof, which means scientists can make notes in very wet conditions. Who knew? Not me!

The green building is the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station, where I am staying for the first 10 days of my adventure.

  1. Reminds me of trips down the Clinton River in Grandpa’s boat.

    1. That's exactly what I was thinking today. I thought a lot about Grandpa and the way he knew the water.
